No. All features (convert, trim, extract audio, add watermark, denoise, vocal separation) run entirely in your browser — no upload needed, ever. Formavide has no servers that process your files. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Your files are never uploaded, so nothing is stored on our side — there is nothing to retain or expire. Everything stays on your device until you delete it yourself.
Input — reads virtually any format: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM, MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, Opus, AAC, AIFF and more. Output — converts to: MP4, AVI, MOV, MKV (video) / MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, FLAC (audio). You can also extract audio from video files.
Files up to 500MB are supported. For best performance, we recommend files under 200MB. Larger files may require more memory.
Local processing has no fixed duration cap — practical limits come from your device memory and performance. Mobile browsers have tighter limits for some features (e.g. local convert max 3 minutes); for long videos, a desktop browser is recommended.
Basic tools — convert, trim, extract audio, add watermark — are free with unlimited uses, no account needed. AI features have daily free quotas per tool: 2/day as a guest, 5/day signed in; subtitles and face redaction require sign-in (1/day per tool, videos up to 5 minutes). Paid tiers remove all quotas — one-time payment, no subscription, no auto-renewal: Monthly ($4.99, 30 days), Annual ($19.99, 1 year) or Lifetime ($49.99 early-bird price, may increase — buy once, yours forever). All features are included on the web now; the desktop app will be covered too once it launches.
Full refund, no reason required — request it from your Orders page: within 7 days of purchase for Monthly, within 30 days for Annual and Lifetime. The license is revoked automatically once the refund is processed. Repeated buy-and-refund cycles may be declined as abuse.
Processing speed depends on your device. Large files with high resolution will take longer. On mobile devices, processing may be slower.
Chrome and Edge provide the best experience with multi-threaded processing. Other browsers use single-threaded mode which is slightly slower.
No. The basic tools (convert, trim, extract audio, add watermark) are free with unlimited uses and need no account. A free account raises AI-feature quotas from 2 to 5 uses per tool per day — and is required for subtitles and face redaction.
Yes, Formavide works on mobile browsers. Processing may be slower than on desktop due to device limitations.
After the initial page load, most features work without an internet connection since processing is local.
Yes. Upload a video, then choose an image (PNG/JPG/WebP) or enter text as a watermark. You can adjust size, opacity, rotation (for text), and select multiple positions at once. In single-position mode, you can drag the watermark on the preview to place it precisely. All processing is done in your browser.
No — watermark removal isn't offered. The watermark tool adds image or text watermarks to your videos, protecting your own content.
It runs entirely in your browser via ONNX Runtime — your audio never leaves your device. The default Spleeter engine (2 stems: vocals + accompaniment, ~75MB model) works in any browser; on WebGPU-capable Chrome or Edge you can switch to the Demucs engine (4 stems) for cleaner separation.
